"Greece 2021" Committee Delegation visits Salamina

As per the pandemic measures, the two hundred guests of the Municipality of Salamina gathered despite the heatwave, on Saturday, June 26, in the courtyard of the Town Hall, for the open-air event on "The contribution of Salamina to the Struggle of 1821". The President of the Committee "Greece 2021," Mrs. Gianna Angelopoulos – Daskalaki, was a speaker at the event. The Mayor of Salamina Giorgos Panagopoulos welcomed Mrs. Angelopoulos while the Municipality's Philharmonic played Rigas Feraios' Thourios.

"I was listening to Riga Feraios' Thourios, and I thought that it is a wonderful introduction to today's discussion," said Mrs. Angelopoulos during the meeting of the Committee delegation with Mr. Panagopoulos, members of Parliament and institutions of the island. "So that those who know will be reminded, and those who don't know will learn the great history of Salamina. Especially the island's contribution to the Struggle of 1821".
