The anniversary projects and events carried out under the auspices or with the "Greece 2021" Committee's logo and included in the National Program of Anniversary Projects and Events continue through the first fortnight of July.
Among them are the project concerning the indexing of the Newspapers of the Greek Revolution, important educational initiatives such as the educational program for schools entitled "Where are you going little boat in such bad weather? - The Maritime Tradition of Greece" by the cultural organization of the Holy Diocese of Demetrias and Almyros "Magniton Kivotos," the infrastructure project concerning the improvement and restoration of the Metropolitan Axis between Aigeou – Kratitos streets, digital exhibitions, music events and much more.
The projects and events of July 1st to 15th in detail:
- "Rebirth"
The folk oratorio "Rebirth" by the composer Dimitris Maramis, performed by Costas Makedonas, Grigoris Valtinos, and the vocal ensemble "8tetto," is the central event of the Region of Central Greece in the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the Greek Revolution. It was presented on July 1 in Lamia, and it will be presented on July 22 in Chalkida, on July 24 in Amfissa, and on September 16 in Livadia.
The event is under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
- Two-day anniversary events on the "Metapoliteftiki" (Transitional Regime) Revolution (1895-1896)
On July 3 and 4, the Municipality of Apokoronas in Crete held a two-day anniversary event on the "Metapoliteftiki" (Transitional Regime) Revolution (1895-1896). The "Metapoliteftiki" (Transitional Regime) Revolution was an important milestone in Crete's path to self-government and was described as the "prelude to Cretan freedom," followed by the Revolution of 1897, which led to the dissolution of the Ottoman administration and the de facto autonomy of the island.
The event is under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
- Creation of the statue: "The Glory of Psara"
The Municipality of the Heroic Island of Psara will create a statue representing the "Glory of Psara," as is depicted in the famous painting by Nikolaos Gyzis.
The perception of Glory is a symbol of the Psarian struggle, and its creation is a tribute to the heroes of 1821.
The project is under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
- "Constantinos Sathas. His literary and historical work. The interpretation of the Chronicle of Galaxidi in present time."
The Municipality of Delphi organizes a workshop dedicated to the work of Constantinos Sathas, one of the most prominent Greek historians of modern Greece. Distinguished university professors knowledgeable on the work and the contribution of Constantinos Sathas in literature will speak during the event. The minutes of the workshop will be included in a special edition.
As part of the same project, the Municipality of Delphi will publish a new edition of the "Chronicle of Galaxidi," which is a brief handwritten summary of the history of Galaxidi from the 10th to the 17th century, which was discovered and published by Constantinos Sathas.

- Improvement and restoration of the Metropolitan Axis between Aigeou – Kratitos streets
It is the bioclimatic redevelopment of an area of 186,000 sqm on the borders of the Municipalities of Nea Smyrna and Athens that targets urban regeneration, improvement of transport, and the aesthetic upgrading of public spaces, to maintain a green balance and, at the same time, to become a magnet for culture and recreation.
The implementation of this vital infrastructure project, under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee, began on July 1.
- Aegialia 2021 - Museum of Digital Exhibits for the Anniversary of '21
The Municipality of Aegialia is creating a modern museum of augmented reality with the Secret Assembly of Vostitsa as its central theme.
It will include references to the persons who participated in the Assembly and representations of crucial historical moments.
The project is under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.

- Kapodistrias and the Chieftains in Lefkada in 1807
The project concerns festive events held from July 2 to July 4 at the Municipality of Lefkada celebrating the contribution of Lefkada to the Greek Revolution of 1821, and the fact that 14 years before the Revolution, in 1807, in the area of Magemenos in Nikiana, the famous gathering of chieftains took place under a young Ioannis Kapodistrias.

- Small tribute to the heroines of the Revolution of 1821: Tasoula Gyftogianni from Messolonghi
The Lyceum of Hellenic Women in Volos designed an event with educational, historical, and cultural content dedicated to unknown heroines of 1821. It focuses on Tasoula Gyftogianni, one of the legendary protagonists of the Exodus of Messolonghi.
The event includes a presentation of the historical monograph entitled "Small tribute to unknown heroines of the Revolution of 1821: Tasoula Gyftoyianni from Messolonghi" and the educational program based on local heroine Margarita Basdeki.
The program aims at both levels of primary and secondary education. The publication will be donated to primary and secondary schools in the Prefectures of Magnesia and Aitoloakarnania and libraries.
The presentation took place on July 5 in the garden of the Volos Xenia, while the implementation of the educational program will begin in September.

- Digital exhibition 1821-2021: 200 Years through Greek comics
One of the exhibitions accompanying the opening of the Digital Comics Museum is the exhibition "1821-2021: 200 Years through Greek Comics".
From Theodoros Kolokotronis to the modern heroes and anti-heroes of everyday life, Comicdom Press's exhibition presents Greek reality as reflected in the domestic 9th Art, be it original creations or interpretations of literary works.

- The Newspapers of the Greek Revolution (1821-1832)
Under the auspices and with the sponsoring support of the "Greece 2021" Committee, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), with a research team led by Professor Aristides Hatzis, carries out the indexing of all the newspapers of the Greek Revolution from 1821 to 1832, as well as the Journal of the Ionian Islands (Gazzetta Degli Stati Uniti Delle Isole Jonie), the Times of London, the British Literature Gazette and Journal of Belles Letters, Arts, Sciences as well as selected other publications published in Great Britain, France, and the USA during the Greek Revolution and addressing it.

- "Where are you going, little boat in such bad weather? - The Maritime Tradition of Greece"
The cultural institution of the Holy Metropolis of Demetriada and Almyros "Magniton Kivotos" implements an educational program for schools entitled "Where are you going little boat in such bad weather? - The Maritime Tradition of Greece".
The project aspires to comprehend aspects of History, the Environment, Local History, as well as Folk Greek Culture, focusing on maritime tradition and shipping.
The educational program consists of six thematic modules and has the approval of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.
The educational package of the program includes printed and digital material – 7 books accompanied by DVDs (with digital material for educational formats for Kindergarten, Elementary, and High School, activity sheets, presentations, digital applications, digital books, photos, etc.).
The educational material will be produced with the Sponsoring Support of the "Greece 2021" Committee by August 31, 2021. Afterward, seminars on the use of the program have been planned for teachers, which will be completed by October 31, 2021, and the material will then be sent to the schools.
- Fthia Photo Challenge
BRIDGE HUB organizes an online photography competition aimed at promoting and highlighting Fthiotida. In order to accomplish the meaningful acquaintance of young people with the region, participants are invited to discover hidden aspects of Fthiotida, such as local history, gastronomy, and natural beauty, by using photography.
